When a farm is shared across two or more Farm-IQ Pro accounts, there is always one account which has ultimate control over the data. This is always the account in which the farm was created, because when adding a new farm, you are automatically assigned as the farm owner.
There are, however, scenarios where you may want to transfer ownership to another party. E.g. you are a contractor and have invited one of your farm customers to share the farm. The farmer may also want to share the data with other stakeholders that would benefit from access to it, but the farmer cannot do this without having the ownership transferred. The farmer may also want to add additional fields to the farm which are not relevant to you as the contractor. Without transferring the ownership, you would automatically get visibility of all fields added by the farmer.
To transfer ownership of a farm, in Farm-IQ, open the Field Records screen for the farm in question, and click on the Manage button.
This will take you to the Manage Share screen (please note, you may be asked to sign in).
In this screen, if you are the current owner, you’ll see a Transfer Ownership button. Click this button and after acknowledging the confirmation message, the transfer will be applied immediately.
